Sofia Strömberg,
new CEO of Örebrokompaniet
The principal of Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm will be the new CEO of Örebrokompaniet. “I feel really excited about this”, says Sofia Strömberg.
For the past 20 years, Örebro-born Sofia Strömberg has been living in Stockholm. But after being recruited as CEO by the chancellor of the university, Jens Schollin, she will soon be returning home. “I want to act as a driving force to bring together all the players who want to improve Örebro’s image”, she says.

New logistics fair debuts in Örebro: Intermodal 2012
A meeting place for business – that is the catchphrase for Intermodal 2012, a new fair which will be held for the first time this autumn. The idea originated with the Regional Development Council, which wanted to improve the Örebro region’s position as a logistics region. The event organiser is Conventum, Örebro.

Cardiovascular Spring Meeting in Örebro!
As previously announced, Örebro will have the honour of playing host to this year’s Cardiovascular Spring Meeting, and we look forward to giving all the delegates a hearty welcome. The Spring Meeting will be held at Conventum on 4–6 May, and 1,200 delegates are expected to arrive in the town.

“The best-ever closing conference for an EU project”

In 2010, Regionförbundet in Örebro held a transport conference attended by 150 delegates.

“Our EU partners were a bit sceptical at first about holding a conference in Örebro”, says Katarina Bååth, Information Officer and Project Manager at Energikontoret. “But after the conference, everyone was really pleased with how it had gone. The highly-experienced Belgian EU project manager project manager, felt that it was the best closing conference for an EU project she’d ever attended. Many of the delegates said how impressed they were with Örebro, and in particular Örebro Castle where we hosted a very successful dinner.”
